JavaScript is the most widely used programming language in the world. Along with HTML and CSS, JavaScript is one of only three native languages of the web – all of which will be used in this course. Companies big and small, including Google, LinkedIn, Facebook and Netflix, use JavaScript to power pieces of their web applications. This is because JavaScript is the only scripting language that can be used on servers and browsers (front-end + back-end).
In the first few weeks, you will learn the basics of programming starting with the command line and Node.Js as well as how to use a text editor. You will quickly advance into more complex coding concepts, such as Values, Strings, Variables, Functions, and Loops.
Lean JavaScript Comparison and Operators to create logic, such as 'if... then... else' statements, that solves problems on the computer. You will also take a deep dive into version control using Git and GitHub. Complete your first real project.
Secure your foundation with topics such as Node.js, API integration, and object-oriented programming. Begin your final project and solidify concepts by applying what you learn to real-world problems.
